NEW SAUDI AIRLINE SET TO BRIDGE GULF TO AFRICA AIR TRAVEL GAP

A fresh breeze is blowing through the skies of Saudi Arabia as an investor gears up to unveil a new airline in Riyadh, aimed at bolstering connectivity between the Kingdom and Africa, as per reports by Al-Eqtisadiah.

With a vision to foster tourism and investment, the upcoming airline is poised to forge vital air links between Saudi Arabia and various African destinations. Regulatory green lights have been secured from local authorities as well as the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), heralding a new era of aviation connectivity.

While specifics regarding the airline’s launch and inaugural flights are eagerly awaited, the company is anticipated to divulge details in the near future. The airline, originating from a carrier that previously operated in Saudi Arabia until 2021, aims to resurrect its wings despite facing economic headwinds in the past.

Strategically charting its course, the new carrier intends to introduce multiple air routes connecting a constellation of African nations with key Saudi cities. Direct flights and stopover options are on the itinerary, with ambitions set to ferry a whopping 385 million passengers between Saudi Arabia and Africa by 2030. This ambitious target aligns with bolstering tourism seasons, cultural events, and facilitating religious pilgrimages such as Hajj and Umrah.

As the venture progresses, meticulous groundwork including company establishment and regulatory clearances will be meticulously navigated. Simultaneously, preparations to prime the aviation fleet for African operations are well underway.

In a bid to fortify its foothold and expedite expansion, the investor is mulling over forming alliances with fellow investors, amplifying the airline’s potential and reach.
