NOLINOR AVIATION TO ACQUIRE MULTIPLE CARGO AIRCRAFT FROM NATILUS

Nolinor Aviation, a leader in providing aviation services to remote and northern regions, has announced a landmark partnership with San Diego-based aerospace innovator Natilus. This agreement secures production positions for multiple Kona aircraft, a next-generation regional cargo freighter designed with a blended-wing-body airframe and optimised for gravel and unpaved runway operations.

Transforming Regional Cargo Aviation

The Kona aircraft, currently under development, is engineered to meet Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) and Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) standards. It boasts an impressive 3.8 metric ton payload capacity, a range of 900 nautical miles, and the ability to operate on runways as short as 800 meters. Its innovative turboprop configuration achieves a 30% reduction in fuel consumption compared to conventional aircraft, making it an ideal solution for remote and underserved regions.

Marco Prud’Homme, President of Nolinor Aviation, emphasized the strategic value of the partnership:
“This partnership marks a pivotal step in our commitment to innovation and operational excellence. During our visit to Natilus’ head office in San Diego last fall, we were impressed by their groundbreaking approach to aircraft design and their dedication to addressing the unique challenges of the cargo industry. The Kona’s gravel runway capability is a perfect match for our operations, and we are eager to leverage its potential to better serve our customers across Canada and beyond.”

Pioneering a New Era of Air Freight

The Kona’s blended-wing-body airframe not only improves aerodynamic efficiency but also enables greater cargo volume. By reducing environmental impact and increasing operational adaptability, this aircraft is positioned to redefine the standards for regional air freight.

Natilus CEO Aleksey Matyushev highlighted the significance of the collaboration:

“We are honoured to partner with Nolinor Aviation, a company known for its leadership in serving remote and rugged areas. The Kona cargo aircraft is designed to redefine air freight with its efficiency, adaptability, and innovative features. This agreement showcases how forward-thinking operators like Nolinor are shaping the future of aviation.”

Driving Innovation and Sustainability in Regional Transport

The partnership between Nolinor Aviation and Natilus underscores a shared commitment to advancing sustainable and innovative solutions for regional air cargo transport. With the Kona’s groundbreaking design and capability, this collaboration promises to enhance connectivity in challenging environments while reducing carbon emissions and fuel costs.
