An experienced flight instructor, award-winning aerobatic pilot and international business developer, Narine Melkumjan will lead Tecnam sales for Oriens Aviation in the Netherlands from Breda International Airport.
Oriens Aviation, the official Tecnam dealer for the British Isles and, since June 2026, the exclusive Tecnam dealer for the Netherlands, has appointed Narine Melkumjan as Sales Manager for the Dutch market, the company said in Breda, the Netherlands, and Capua, Italy, on 22 October 2026. Based at Breda International Airport, Melkumjan will be the dedicated point of contact for flight schools, clubs and private pilots across the Netherlands looking to fly the Tecnam fleet.
The appointment is a key step in the development of Oriens Aviation’s dedicated Dutch subsidiary, announced in June, which brings to the Netherlands the same full-service approach, sales, maintenance and ownership support, that it has offered Tecnam customers in the UK and Ireland since 2021. In the Netherlands, Oriens represents Tecnam’s single and twin engine piston range for professional flight training and private ownership, from the P2008JC NG and the P-Mentor IFR trainer to the twin engine P2006T NG, as well as the P2010 and Sport lines for private owners.
Melkumjan brings a combination of hands-on flying experience and commercial expertise. A holder of an EASA frozen ATPL with instrument and multi-engine ratings, and a Flight Instructor (A), she has logged more than 860 flight hours, over 470 of them as an instructor, training students in the Netherlands and Germany, including on the Tecnam P2008JC.
Her flying journey began on a Tecnam P2002 at Vliegschool Hilversum. She is also an accomplished competition aerobatic pilot: in 2019 she became the first female pilot to win the Intermediate category at the Dutch Open National Aerobatic Championship. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business Administration from HAN University of Applied Sciences and is fluent in Dutch, English, Russian, Armenian and Ukrainian, and also speaks German.
“I learned to fly on a Tecnam and have taught on Tecnam aircraft for years, so I know first-hand how well they work for students, instructors and owners,” said Narine Melkumjan, Sales Manager at Oriens Aviation. “Dutch flight schools and private pilots want modern, efficient aircraft backed by real local support. That is exactly what we are here to deliver from Breda, and I look forward to helping our customers find the right Tecnam for their mission.”
“When we opened our Dutch subsidiary, we promised local operators the same level of service our customers enjoy in the UK and Ireland,” said Edwin Brenninkmeyer, CEO of Oriens Aviation. “Narine combines an instructor’s understanding of what flight schools really need with a proven commercial track record and deep roots in the Dutch aviation community. She is the ideal person to grow the Tecnam brand in the Netherlands.”
“Just a few months after expanding into the Netherlands, Oriens Aviation is already building a strong local team,” said Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer at Tecnam. “With a Sales Manager who knows our aircraft from the cockpit, both as a pilot and as an instructor, Dutch customers will find a knowledgeable partner ready to support them from the first flight to delivery and beyond.”
Note: Oriens Aviation has been the authorised centre for Tecnam since 2021, including the flagship twin-engined Tecnam P2012 series, and is also the Pilatus PC-12 and PC-24 sales and service centre for the British Isles. It added Cirrus SR single-engine maintenance and repair expertise in 2022. The company is based at London Biggin Hill Airport and holds EASA Part 145 approval alongside UK CAA 145 and FAA Repair Station approvals. Tecnam separately states that flight schools using its single and twin engine fleet can save up to 10 tonnes of CO2 emissions for each student completing a Commercial Pilot Licence, a company-cited 60% reduction compared with a fleet using 100LL fuel.
