RAYTHEON SECURES $529 MILLION CONTRACT TO REPLENISH DUTCH PATRIOT DEFENCE SYSTEM

Andover, Mass., January 2025 – Raytheon, a business under RTX (NYSE: RTX), has been awarded a $529 million contract to supply the Netherlands with a Patriot® air and missile defence system fire unit and associated equipment. This replenishment effort replaces a fire unit previously donated to Ukraine.

The direct commercial sales contract comprises a single fire unit, which includes a radar system, launchers, command and control stations, and various support equipment, strengthening the Netherlands’ air defence capabilities.

 

Enhancing European Defence

Pete Bata, senior vice president of Global Patriot at Raytheon, emphasised the strategic importance of this partnership:

The Patriot system, renowned for its combat-proven reliability, is the world’s only ground-based air and missile defence solution capable of countering advanced long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and a variety of air-breathing threats. It serves as the cornerstone of air defence for 19 nations, consistently demonstrating its effectiveness in responding to sophisticated aerial threats and complex raid scenarios.

 

Contract Work Distribution

The majority of the work under this contract will be conducted in Raytheon’s facilities located in Andover, Massachusetts, and Huntsville, Alabama, reinforcing the company’s role in delivering advanced defence solutions on a global scale.

 

The Netherlands’ decision to replenish its Patriot capabilities reflects a continued commitment to enhancing integrated defence systems, ensuring readiness and interoperability across NATO and allied forces.
