RWANDAIR AND AWA PARTNERSHIP EXPANDS AFRICAN CONNECTIVITY

RwandAir has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Africa World Airlines (AWA), a move set to enhance connectivity across the African continent. The Special Prorate Agreement (SPA) between the two airlines strengthens travel links between West Africa, Rwanda, and international destinations, providing seamless connections and reduced travel times.

“This partnership reflects our shared vision of a more connected and prosperous continent,” stated RwandAir’s Country Manager for Ghana. “The SPA allows customers to travel more efficiently between West Africa, Rwanda, and our international network, benefiting both tourists and businesses alike.”

The agreement leverages AWA’s strong operational presence in Ghana and Nigeria, complementing RwandAir’s routes and expanding its reach without the need to divert aircraft from other markets. With RwandAir having flown to Ghana for over a decade, the partnership underscores the growing demand for this important West African route.

By providing smoother connections and a wider array of travel options, the partnership is expected to benefit travelers by offering more affordable fares and easier access to key markets. For families, friends, and business colleagues, the SPA aims to reduce the traditional barriers to air travel across Africa.

For West African passengers, the agreement also opens RwandAir’s growing international network, offering more efficient routes to Europe, the Middle East, and other African destinations via Kigali. “The SPA enhances Accra’s position as a major aviation hub, boosting traffic and tourism, while driving inward investment,” noted the Country Manager.

This collaboration between RwandAir and AWA is part of a larger trend of African airlines working together to strengthen intra-African connectivity. As the continent’s economy continues to expand, the aviation sector is playing an increasingly vital role in facilitating economic growth. RwandAir is positioning itself at the forefront of this growth, helping to drive the success of Africa’s aviation industry.
