SEAPLANE AND AMPHIBIOUS AVIATION TAKE CENTER STAGE AT FOSAA25

As global interest in seaplane and amphibious aviation continues to grow, the Future Opportunities for Seaplanes and Amphibious Aviation (FOSAA25) conference is poised to spotlight this dynamic sector. Scheduled for 11 February 2025 at the prestigious Biltmore Hotel in Miami, the event promises to attract a global audience of delegates and exhibitors eager to explore the sector’s potential.

“We know this industry meeting makes a difference to the expanding seaplane sector,” said Lorna Titley, director of Quaynote Communications, the event’s organizer alongside Arena Group Associates. “Bringing together participants from around the world results in genuine action as delegates learn, share experiences, network, and initiate deals. We’re aware that at least three signed agreements originated at FOSAA24.”

Exploring Opportunities Across Industries

This year’s conference will delve into how seaplane and amphibious aviation intersect with industries such as luxury tourism, special missions, and yachting, showcasing opportunities available now and those emerging with next-generation seaplane models.

Rob Ceravolo, CEO and founder of Tropic Ocean Airlines, will kick off the event. As a leader in the sector and head of one of the largest seaplane operators in the Americas, Ceravolo will share insights on creating a successful seaplane operation and overcoming industry challenges.

The day’s first panel discussion will expand on this theme, focusing on identifying opportunities, considerations for startups, and strategies to meet customer expectations. Other topics on the program include regulations, finance, retrofitting, and propulsion advancements, offering a comprehensive view of the sector’s challenges and possibilities.

Engaging Discussions and New Features

A new addition to FOSAA25 is a comprehensive roundtable session where delegates can engage in informal conversations on diverse topics. Expert-hosted discussions will cover areas such as maintenance, medevac interiors, environmental impact, pilot training, cybersecurity, and cargo applications. These sessions complement the formal panels and presentations led by industry leaders, ensuring a well-rounded exchange of ideas.

Industry Support and Global Influence

The event is supported by leading companies, including Anatra, Elfly, Gogo|Satcom Direct, Hartzell Propellers, JEKTA, Monte, Textron Aviation, and VBL Aviation.

“Without our sponsors, enthusiastic speakers, and passionate delegates, the event would not happen,” said Titley. “Held against the backdrop of Miami, where seaplanes play a vital role in local travel, this event will highlight the versatility and diverse applications of these aircraft.”

She added, “This sector is far from niche and is increasingly influential in supporting a sustainable, accessible global air transport network. With more than 70% of the world covered in water, the opportunities are infinite.”

FOSAA25 underscores the pivotal role of seaplanes and amphibious aviation in shaping the future of air transport and their contribution to global connectivity.
