TAAG Angola Airlines has officially opened bookings for its new route between Luanda and Praia, Cape Verde, with commercial operations scheduled to commence on 12 December 2026, offering two weekly frequencies, the airline said in Luanda on 28 October 2026. The launch marks a new milestone in TAAG’s international network expansion strategy, enhancing mobility between the two countries and strengthening air connectivity across Africa.

The new service will operate from Luanda on Monday and Saturday, with return flights from Praia on Tuesday and Sunday, with an approximate flight time of four hours each way. The route will primarily be served by the Airbus A220-300, offering a total capacity of 137 passengers, including 12 Premium Class seats and 125 Economy Class seats.

The launch forms part of TAAG’s strategy to position Luanda as a leading aviation hub in Africa, facilitating passenger flows between regional markets and intercontinental destinations. Through Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport, travellers from Cape Verde will gain access to TAAG’s domestic network as well as a range of African and international destinations.

The Luanda to Praia service also represents the first phase of a broader regional development project that envisages extending the route to Dakar, Senegal, in 2027; sales for that additional segment will commence following the necessary approvals from Senegalese civil aviation authorities. With the addition of Praia to its network, TAAG further reinforces its footprint within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, complementing existing operations to Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe.
