TCab Tech has announced the successful closure of its Series A financing, raising an additional £20 million. The investment has been secured from a strategic investment fund, with plans to introduce the air-taxi application in the Middle East region. TCab’s passenger-carrying E20 eVTOL features a tilt-rotor configuration, accommodating five individuals (one pilot and four passengers). Equipped with six rotors – four tilt and two lift rotors – and a high gull-wing with a conventional tailplane design, the E20 eVTOL targets a maximum design range of 200 km and a cruising speed of 260 km/hour. It is optimally efficient for commuting distances ranging from 30 to 150 km.
While China has been identified as the primary market for air-taxi applications in various reports, TCab Tech also sees significant demand for the E20 eVTOL in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the “Belt and Road” regions. These rapidly developing areas stand to benefit from integrating air taxis into their transportation infrastructure, facilitating aerial sightseeing and inter-city travel.
With this funding, TCab Tech aims to expedite the development of the E20 aircraft, meet airworthiness certification goals, and ultimately commercialise the E20 eVTOL.
