TECNAM P2012 TRAVELLER GAINS FULL VALIDATION IN COLOMBIA

Tecnam has announced a major milestone in its global expansion strategy: the full validation of its P2012 Traveller by Colombia’s Civil Aviation Authority, AEROCIVIL. The certification clears the way for commercial operations of Tecnam’s flagship aircraft throughout Colombia, in partnership with its regional dealer, Transair Leasing Inc.

To mark the occasion, the P2012 Traveller will make its official debut at the F-AIR Colombia Airshow in Rionegro, Antioquia—one of Latin America’s premier aviation events. The show provides a high-profile platform to introduce the aircraft’s robust capabilities to aviation professionals, government stakeholders, and the Colombian public.

Built for Colombia’s Diverse Terrain

Designed with flexibility and rugged performance in mind, the P2012 Traveller is tailor-made for Colombia’s geographical challenges—from remote jungle airstrips and high-altitude mountain towns to island destinations. The aircraft accommodates up to 11 passengers and features advanced Garmin G1000 NXi avionics. Its short-field performance and low operating costs make it a reliable and efficient choice for operators navigating the country’s complex aviation environment.

“A New Era for Regional Connectivity”

“We are thrilled to bring the P2012 Traveller to Colombia with the support of our local dealer, Transair Leasing,” said Giovanni Pascale Langer, Managing Director of Tecnam. “The validation by AEROCIVIL and our presence at F-AIR demonstrate our strong commitment to meeting the needs of Latin American operators seeking modern, cost-effective, and reliable solutions for regional transport.”

Strategic Support Through Transair Leasing

As Tecnam’s official distributor in Colombia, Transair Leasing will provide full-spectrum support—from aircraft sales to after-market service and maintenance. A member of Grupo Aries, Transair Leasing brings decades of aviation expertise to the partnership. Its sister company, Aeroinsa, is equipped to provide charter operations and maintenance from a state-of-the-art hangar at Guayaquil Airport, staffed by certified professionals trained by Bell and Tecnam.

The P2012 is already proving its value worldwide in passenger services, medevac, cargo, tourism, and government missions. Its market entry into Colombia opens up new commercial pathways for operators looking to serve underserved routes with a modern, dependable platform.

A Greener Way to Fly

In keeping with Tecnam’s vision of sustainable aviation, the company continues to lead in eco-friendly pilot training solutions. Flight schools operating Tecnam aircraft can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 10 tonnes per student, thanks to efficient aircraft design and the use of unleaded fuels. This represents a 60% reduction compared to traditional 100LL-fuelled fleets.

As Tecnam continues to blend tradition with innovation, the P2012 Traveller’s entry into Colombia reaffirms its role as a catalyst for accessible, reliable, and sustainable regional air mobility.
