SION, Switzerland / DENVER, Colorado / HAMPTONS, New York – H55’s electric aircraft has demonstrated a groundbreaking reduction in noise pollution, flying so quietly that it evaded half of the official noise-monitoring sensors during a test at a major U.S. airport.
On 11 July 2025, the Bristell B23 Energic, powered by H55’s certified electric propulsion system, flew identical patterns alongside a comparable piston-engine aircraft across six official airport noise stations. Three of the six sensors recorded no aircraft noise at all, with the B23 Energic operating below the ambient sound threshold of 60 dB. The remaining sensors measured noise at just one-tenth of the intensity recorded for the conventional piston aircraft.
“Electric aviation isn’t the future—it’s here,” said Michael Fronapfel, CEO of Centennial Airport. “The B23 Energic offers noise levels so low, they’re almost too quiet to track. This has real-world implications for airport communities.”
According to Centennial Airport Noise & Environmental Specialist Zach Gabehart, the B23 Energic consistently flew 30 times quieter than similar aircraft during cruise. “If this keeps up, I might be out of a job,” he said.
The ultra-quiet operations highlight the community benefits of electric propulsion, including:
- Longer training hours without neighbour complaints
- Reduced environmental impact with zero emissions
- Quieter skies for improved community relations
- Compliance with future regulatory standards
“This test proves that electric aviation delivers not just environmental benefits, but tangible advantages for the communities around airports,” said Martin Larose, CEO of H55. “We’re proud to offer a certified propulsion system that helps make aviation more affordable, more sustainable, and more silent.”
The Bristell B23 Energic will next bring its “Across America” tour to one of the country’s most noise-sensitive regions, the Hamptons, from August 4–10, 2025. Demonstration flights and technology showcases are scheduled at:
- Francis S. Gabreski Airport (KFOK): August 6–7
- East Hampton Town Airport (KJPX): August 4–5 & 8–10
Founded by the former Solar Impulse management team, H55 delivers certified electric propulsion and battery management systems for general aviation and regional transport aircraft, driving sustainable aviation solutions for a quieter, cleaner future.
