Seattle, USA – September 2025 – Turkish Airlines has placed a firm order for up to 75 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, marking the airline’s largest widebody purchase with the U.S. manufacturer. The agreement includes 35 787-9s, 15 of the larger 787-10, and options for 25 additional 787s to support fleet growth and modernisation.
In addition, Turkish Airlines announced its intention to acquire up to 150 more 737 MAX jets, which, once finalised, will become the carrier’s largest single-aisle Boeing order. Combined, the new 787 and 737 MAX purchases will double the airline’s Boeing fleet, supporting its ambitious network expansion.
“This landmark agreement represents much more than fleet growth. It reflects our leadership in the industry and dedication to innovation and operational excellence,” said Prof. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines. “The addition of these advanced Boeing aircraft will enhance our operational capabilities and support our 2033 Vision of growing our fleet to 800 aircraft.”
Currently, Turkish Airlines operates more than 200 Boeing jets, including the 787-9, 777, 737 MAX, Next-Generation 737 and 777 Freighter models. The addition of the larger 787-10 will offer increased passenger and cargo capacity, fuel efficiency on high-demand routes, and superior passenger comfort through features such as the largest windows of any widebody, lower cabin altitude, and turbulence-sensing technology.
“We are honoured that Turkish Airlines has once again chosen the 787 Dreamliner and 737 MAX to power its future growth,” said Stephanie Pope, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “The 787 family has proven itself versatile in long-haul operations, connecting the most countries of any widebody fleet and serving some 500,000 passengers daily.”
Boeing has maintained a strong partnership with Türkiye’s aviation industry for 80 years, supporting commercial airlines, defence operations, and government programmes. With offices in Ankara and Istanbul, Boeing has invested $2 billion in local supply chain development, creating nearly 5,000 jobs and strengthening Türkiye’s integration into the global aerospace sector.
