UAC DELIVERS NEW BATCH OF SU-34 FIGHTER-BOMBERS TO RUSSIAN MINISTRY OF DEFENCE

The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the Rostec State Corporation, has delivered a new batch of Su-34 fighter-bombers to the Russian Ministry of Defence, further strengthening the operational-tactical aviation fleet of the Russian Aerospace Forces. These aircraft were produced under the State Defence Order programme for the current year.

“The Su-34 front-line bomber has long established itself as the best in its class. Its capabilities allow pilots to successfully operate in combat theatres using both guided and unguided aviation weapons,” said Oleg Yevtushenko, Executive Director of Rostec. “The aircraft is in demand in modern combat conditions, and our factories have increased production rates to ensure timely, consistent deliveries to the troops.”

The newly built aircraft have undergone a complete cycle of factory testing, been evaluated in various operational modes, and have flown to their assigned home airfields.

A Su-34 pilot from the Russian Aerospace Forces highlighted the aircraft’s versatility: “This aircraft has many advantages, including a large range of weapons. It is manoeuvrable, responsive, and easy to control.”

Vadim Badekha, UAC Director General, emphasised the corporation’s commitment: “UAC, fulfilling its obligations to the Russian Ministry of Defence, supplies aviation equipment on time and in full. Additional batches of various aircraft types are also being prepared for delivery. We are proud that our aircraft contribute to combat missions and the country’s defence capability.”

Designed to strike ground, surface, and aerial targets – including infrastructure protected by air defence systems – the Su-34 can operate over long distances from its home base. It is capable of performing missions in contested environments, both day and night, under challenging weather conditions, and in any geographical theatre of operations. The aircraft can also be deployed for aerial reconnaissance tasks.
