VERTICAL AEROSPACE AND BRISTOW GROUP TO DELIVER TURNKEY VX4 EVTOL OPERATIONS

June 2025 — Vertical Aerospace [NYSE: EVTL], a global leader in electric aviation, has announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Bristow Group Inc. [NYSE: VTOL], the world’s foremost provider of sustainable vertical flight solutions. The collaboration aims to accelerate commercial adoption of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft by delivering a fully managed, “ready-to-fly” VX4 operational model to customers worldwide.

Combining Vertical’s pioneering VX4 aircraft with Bristow’s decades-long expertise in vertical lift logistics, safety, and certification, the partnership introduces a scalable, capital-light operational framework. The solution provides customers with immediate access to certified aircraft, trained pilots, maintenance, and insurance—removing the need to build operations from the ground up.

“This strategic partnership is about execution and mirrors what already successfully works in aviation today,” said Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace. “It will lower barriers to market entry and accelerate the adoption of eVTOL services worldwide. Together, we’re making it easy for customers to adopt electric flight, allowing them to focus on what they are best at – customer service, loyalty and sales.”

Under the newly signed memorandum of understanding, Bristow has placed a pre-order for up to 50 VX4 aircraft, with the option to purchase an additional 50. The commitment builds on a strategic relationship established in 2021 and reflects growing confidence in the VX4’s commercial viability and certification pathway.

Chris Bradshaw, President and CEO of Bristow Group, commented: “We are excited about expanding our relationship with Vertical and helping move the future of advanced air mobility forward. Bristow has over 75 years of providing critical safety, operational, certification, and logistics expertise, and this agreement outlines a framework to help scale these new aircraft globally, offering customers a seamless path from concept to revenue.”

Bristow will leverage its global AOC footprint and MRO network approvals to provide fully managed operations for airlines, logistics carriers, and emergency response organisations—the very sectors where Bristow has led for decades. The collaboration will include harmonisation of safety management systems and make use of the VX4’s cloud-connected architecture to deliver predictive maintenance, data-driven fleet insights, and enhanced reliability.

As part of the long-term plan, the companies are exploring Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services, including field maintenance and battery swapping capabilities—further cementing the VX4 as a reliable and operationally efficient solution for advanced air mobility.

The agreement supports Vertical’s Flightpath 2030 strategy, which outlines its roadmap for scalable, certified eVTOL operations. It follows the recent milestone of the first-ever wingborne flight of a winged eVTOL aircraft in European open airspace—a critical achievement in the VX4’s certification journey and a sign of growing regulatory confidence.
