Yingling Aviation has successfully completed its first winglet installation on a Falcon 900, marking a milestone in the company’s expanding modification capabilities. The project, executed by Yingling’s experienced sheetmetal team, involved reinforcing ribs and the installation of a 12-foot strap along each wing, with every rivet meticulously placed to exacting standards.
Harley Howell, an onsite trainer from Aviation Partners, described the installation as the fastest ahead-of-schedule winglet project he has ever supervised. “There were zero mis-drilled holes, zero engineering changes, and exceptional adherence to the engineering drawings,” Howell noted.
Yingling Project Lead Kyle Janssen, brought in from the mobile response team, praised the team’s performance: “I was extremely impressed by our sheetmetal team’s skill and attitude. Even with overtime needed to meet key milestones, everyone stayed positive and focused on the goal.” While this was Yingling’s first winglet installation under its own banner, the crew collectively has decades of experience with similar modifications.
COO Rodger Renaud highlighted the technical challenge of the project: “This was an extremely complicated install that required some of the best techs in the industry. They delivered it on time and on budget.” Gary Dunn, President of Aviation Partners, also visited the facility and commended Yingling’s capabilities: “I was impressed with the facility and all the growth. I met the team, they were great, and I’m excited to have an installation partner that can execute at this level.”
The Falcon 900 now benefits from enhanced aerodynamic performance thanks to the newly installed winglets. Yingling Aviation emphasises that this milestone reflects both the depth of expertise and professionalism of its sheetmetal team, as well as the company’s capacity to deliver complex modifications efficiently.
