Eve Air Mobility (NYSE: EVEX; EVEXW) continues its drive to shape the future of urban air mobility with the signing of a letter of intent with Helicopters Inc., a major U.S. vertical lift operator. This agreement includes the potential purchase of up to 50 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, service support, and Eve’s Vector urban air traffic management (ATM) software. Announced at the Revolution.aero Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) conference, the deal underscores Eve’s commitment to scalable and sustainable air transportation solutions.
Tom Wagner, president of Helicopters Inc., praised Eve’s reliability, enhanced by its ties to Embraer. “Eve’s eVTOLs offer significant operational and environmental benefits, including cost efficiency, lower noise, and reduced emissions,” he said. Helicopters Inc., which operates in over 30 metropolitan areas, plans to leverage these aircraft for use cases such as airport shuttles and point-to-point urban connections.
Eve and Helicopters Inc. have collaborated before, conducting simulations in Chicago to demonstrate the feasibility of eVTOL operations. This new partnership will focus on identifying target markets, refining maintenance strategies, and working with ecosystem partners to develop the infrastructure necessary for advanced air mobility.
Eve’s eVTOL features a lift+cruise design with eight propellers for vertical flight and fixed wings for cruising. The aircraft, built with a focus on performance, safety, and sustainability, is set to revolutionise urban transportation. With nearly 3,000 letters of intent globally and a production facility in Taubaté, Brazil, Eve is solidifying its position as a key player in the eVTOL sector.
