DENEL RETURNS TO INTERNATIONAL MARKETS AT IDEX25

Denel is making a powerful comeback to the global defence industry, reaffirming its status as a leading innovator at IDEX25, one of the world’s premier defence and technology exhibitions. Taking place in Abu Dhabi next week, the event will see Denel showcasing its top-tier guided weapons and landward systems, with the formidable iNkunzi PAW20 taking center stage.

The iNkunzi PAW20, manufactured by Denel PMP, is a compact, stand-alone weapon system that boasts innovative combat capabilities. With an operational range of up to 1000 meters, a semi-automatic firing mechanism, quick reload time, and non-degrading suppressive fire effect, the PAW20 delivers unmatched battlefield performance. This powerful weapon fires a 20x42mm round and is effective in infantry combat, particularly against soft-skinned vehicles, smaller buildings, and boats.

“IDEX25 is an ideal platform for Denel to re-introduce our products, which are always regarded as cost-effective solutions in the defence and security environments,” says Tsepo Monaheng, Group CEO of Denel. “We want to say to current and future clients: Denel is back, and we can still deliver quality products and new innovations in a rapidly changing defence industry.”

A GLOBAL SHOWCASE
With nearly 1,400 exhibitors from 65 countries and an expected attendance of 135,000 visitors—including defence decision-makers, industry leaders, and analysts—IDEX25 offers Denel a prime opportunity to reconnect with the global market. The company has identified the Far East and Eastern Europe as key growth areas and aims to expand its footprint in these regions.

Denel’s presence at IDEX25 will not only highlight the PAW20 but also showcase its cutting-edge guided weapons portfolio, including the Marlin air-to-air missile, the Ingwe Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM), and the Umkhonto-IR surface-to-air system. These systems underscore Denel’s continued commitment to precision technology and strategic defence solutions.

A LEGACY OF INNOVATION
Despite facing challenges in recent years, Denel’s reputation as a leading defence manufacturer remains strong. “Global interest in Denel has not waned. The quality of our products, services, and people remains widely recognized in the defence and technology sectors,” says Monaheng.

For over three decades, IDEX has been the Middle East’s premier defence exhibition, bringing together the world’s leading defence companies and stakeholders. Monaheng emphasises that Denel will use this event to strengthen relationships with customers and industry partners, explore opportunities for strategic collaborations, and reaffirm its brand as a leader in global defence innovation.

“Denel remains a valuable asset for South Africa. We are still open for business, and we continue to leverage the superior quality of our product range and services,” Monaheng concludes.

As Denel re-establishes itself on the world stage, its presence at IDEX25 signals a renewed commitment to excellence, innovation, and global engagement.
