CHINA LAUNCHES NINTH LOW EARTH ORBIT SATELLITE GROUP

China has successfully launched a new group of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in northern Shanxi Province. The launch, the ninth of its kind, took place at 10:15 p.m. Beijing Time aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket.

The satellites entered their preset orbits as planned and will form part of an expanding internet constellation. The mission also marked a milestone for China’s space programme, representing the 590th mission of the Long March carrier rockets.
