AVELO AIRLINES ORDERS UP TO 100 EMBRAER E195-E2S TO DRIVE GROWTH

Washington D.C., September 10, 2025 – Avelo Airlines has placed a landmark firm order for 50 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with purchase rights for 50 more, in a deal valued at US$4.4 billion at list prices. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, marking a significant step in the airline’s fleet modernisation and growth strategy.

With this order, Avelo becomes the first U.S. carrier to operate Embraer’s largest and most advanced commercial aircraft. The E195-E2s will join Avelo’s current fleet of Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft, bringing new levels of efficiency, cost savings, and network flexibility.

A key differentiator of the E195-E2 is its Enhanced Takeoff System (E2TS), a proprietary Embraer technology that enables excellent short-field performance. This capability will allow Avelo to access constrained airports while also opening longer-range destinations. Combined with fuel efficiency, low noise levels, and improved passenger comfort, the aircraft is expected to play a central role in expanding the airline’s reach.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy commented: “We are thrilled to partner with Embraer and bring this best-in-class small narrowbody airplane to the United States marketplace. Our customers will love the E2’s comfortable 2×2 seating, in-seat power ports, large overhead bins, and quiet cabin. The aircraft’s exceptional performance, size, and efficiency make it the perfect choice for the future growth of our scheduled service network.”

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, described the deal as a pivotal moment: “The E195-E2 is a game changer for airlines that want to grow profitably while elevating the guest experience. Avelo complements its narrowbody fleet with the best-in-class E195-E2. Its exceptional fuel efficiency, quiet operations, and short field capability will unlock new markets and optimise capacity across its network – all with a cabin that passengers truly love.”

Since its launch in 2021, Avelo has flown nearly eight million customers on more than 62,000 flights, operating a fleet of 22 Boeing 737 aircraft. The airline now serves 47 cities across 18 U.S. states and Puerto Rico, as well as Jamaica, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.

For Embraer, the order adds to a track record of over 9,000 aircraft delivered worldwide since 1969. The Brazilian manufacturer remains a leader in commercial jets of up to 150 seats, with an aircraft taking off somewhere in the world every 10 seconds.
