LUFTHANSA TECHNIK LAUNCHES ACJ318 ELITE UPGRADE PROGRAM

Lufthansa Technik launches a specialised upgrade program for the ACJ318 Elite, modernising cabin aesthetics, in-flight entertainment, and connectivity to meet the demands of luxury corporate aviation.

HAMBURG – January 2026 – Lufthansa Technik has unveiled a specialized upgrade program for the ACJ318 Elite, the smallest member of the Airbus A320 family, targeting jets originally outfitted between 2007 and 2015. The program, delivered and certified by Lufthansa Technik’s VIP Center of Excellence in Hamburg, combines cabin aesthetic enhancements with cutting-edge technological improvements, bringing the ACJ318 Elite in line with modern corporate aviation standards.

Cabin and System Upgrades

The program refreshes interior elements including veneers, carpets and upholstery, elevating the aircraft’s luxury feel while maintaining the comfort expected of a VIP jet. Passengers will also benefit from new high-definition in-flight entertainment screens, upgraded speakers, and a new cabin management system, ensuring a modernised and seamless onboard experience.

“These upgrades address both cosmetic wear and technological obsolescence, helping the ACJ318 Elite remain competitive in the premium aviation market,” said Fabian Nagel, Vice President at Lufthansa Technik.

Advanced Connectivity Solutions

A key feature of the program is enhanced connectivity. Lufthansa Technik and Airbus Corporate Jets are integrating a low-earth-orbit (LEO) satellite communication system, powered by Gogo Galileo’s full duplex terminal, providing stable, high-speed internet access for corporate travellers. This advanced satcom solution reflects the growing demand for seamless connectivity in luxury aviation.

Maintaining the Legacy of the ACJ318 Elite

Part of the Airbus A320 family, the ACJ318 Elite is known for its airliner-width fuselage and VIP-level configurations, originally offering a 19-passenger layout with dining, lounge, work and rest areas, including private bath and bedroom facilities. The new upgrade program ensures that the aircraft continues to meet evolving expectations for materials, interior design, and onboard technology.

Ensuring a Competitive Edge

By modernising both the cabin and technical systems, Lufthansa Technik enables Airbus Corporate Jets to maintain its position in the high-end aviation market. The program delivers a combination of luxury, productivity, and connectivity, providing aircraft owners with a cost-effective way to rejuvenate their fleets.

Conclusion

Lufthansa Technik’s ACJ318 Elite upgrade program represents a significant step in luxury aviation evolution. With a focus on cabin aesthetics, system modernisation, and advanced connectivity, the program ensures that the ACJ318 Elite remains a compelling choice for modern corporate travellers seeking comfort, style, and cutting-edge technology.
