JETZERO RAISES $175 MILLION TO ADVANCE ALL-WING AIRCRAFT DEMONSTRATOR

JetZero, the US-based start-up developing what it describes as the world’s first commercial all-wing aircraft, has raised approximately $175 million in Series B financing to accelerate development of its full-scale demonstrator aircraft.

The financing round was led by B Capital, with participation from United Airlines Ventures, Northrop Grumman, 3M Ventures, Trucks VC and RTX Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of RTX. Including this latest round, JetZero has now raised and secured commitments exceeding $1.0 billion, comprising private investment alongside government grants, incentives and commercial commitments.

The newly secured capital will be directed towards the development of JetZero’s full-size Demonstrator, a prototype aircraft designed to deliver at least a 30% aerodynamic improvement compared with conventional tube-and-wing configurations. The company confirmed that the Demonstrator remains on track to achieve its first flight in 2027.

Commenting on the announcement, JetZero co-founder and chief executive officer Tom O’Leary said the breadth of the investor group highlighted both confidence in the company and wider industry readiness for change. He noted that the round brings together partners spanning the aviation value chain, from demand and supply through to implementation, combining new investment from B Capital with continued support from earlier backers.

O’Leary added that JetZero’s objective is to deliver a more efficient aircraft design that enhances the passenger experience, supports advanced manufacturing capability in the United States and strengthens the broader aviation supply chain.

B Capital general partner Jeff Johnson said the all-wing aircraft concept sets a new benchmark for efficiency, operating cost and passenger experience. He highlighted the growing pressure on the aviation sector from rising emissions and fuel costs, describing the need for a significant improvement in efficiency as increasingly urgent. Johnson said B Capital was proud to support JetZero as it advances its aircraft technology towards flight demonstration.

JetZero positions its all-wing design as a potential step forward in commercial aircraft efficiency, with the upcoming demonstrator programme representing a critical milestone in validating the concept ahead of future operational applications.
