GA PrecisionTech Europe manufactures around 450 high-precision components for the Do228 NXT at its Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge facility, supporting series production for GA-ATS.
Component manufacturing in Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge supports programme
General Atomics AeroTec Systems (GA-ATS) has confirmed GA PrecisionTech Europe GmbH (PTE) as a strategic partner in the series production of the Do228 NXT, reinforcing its reliance on a strong European supply chain.
Since 2023, PTE has been manufacturing essential aircraft components for the Do228 NXT at its facility in Oelsnitz/Erzgebirge. The collaboration forms part of the broader cooperation within the General Atomics Europe Group and positions PTE as an integral contributor to the production programme.
High-precision components for airframe and landing gear
PTE manufactures approximately 450 different components for the Do228 NXT, including parts for the airframe and landing gear. The company’s manufacturing scope covers all cubic machined parts, excluding turned components. Production includes innovative new developments, design modifications, and the reproduction of existing components.
The company brings established expertise in aviation component manufacturing, supporting both development activities and serial production requirements.
Modern manufacturing technologies and flexible processes
Manufacturing at GA PrecisionTech Europe is centred on precision milling processes using advanced machine technology. A high level of vertical integration, combined with industry experience, enables rapid implementation of new component concepts and efficient adaptation of existing designs.
The production system also allows for flexible single-part manufacturing to support both development and series production needs.
Comprehensive quality assurance to international standards
All Do228 NXT components produced by PTE are subject to comprehensive quality control procedures in accordance with international aviation standards.
These include 3D coordinate measuring technology for geometry verification, optical measuring methods using advanced sensor technology, and spectral analysis for material testing.
Manufacturing in Germany provides advantages including short delivery routes, high process and planning reliability, direct coordination between development and production, and adherence to stringent European quality and industry standards.
Through its role in the programme, GA PrecisionTech Europe contributes to the quality, reliability and long-term availability of the Do228 NXT, reflecting the structured cooperation within the General Atomics Europe Group.
