Yingling Aviation has marked its 80th anniversary, commemorating eight decades of aircraft maintenance, modification and support services within the business aviation sector.
Founded in 1946 in Wichita, Kansas, the company began with a practical objective. Its original owner required a dependable facility to maintain his own aircraft. What began as a single-aircraft maintenance operation gradually developed into a broader aviation service provider built on long-term customer relationships and a focus on quality workmanship.
Chris Short, Chief Operating Officer of Yingling Aviation, said the milestone reflects the contributions of generations of employees and the trust of the company’s customers.
“Eighty years in aviation is simply amazing,” Short said. “This legacy has been driven by our people and the trust of our customers. Generations of teammates have built something special here, and we are proud to carry that forward.”
COMPANY EVOLUTION
Growth alongside business aviation
Over the decades Yingling Aviation has expanded its capabilities in step with developments in business aviation. The company supports a range of aircraft types, including mid- and large-cabin airframes, and continues to work on both legacy aircraft programmes and newer platforms.
Short noted that the anniversary also recognises the contributions of employees, customers and partners who have helped shape the company’s development.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we recognise the people who made it possible,” he said. “Our employees, customers, and partners have shaped who we are. Their trust continues to move us forward.”
From its early focus on aircraft maintenance, the organisation has broadened its services to include advanced cabin technologies and support programmes for larger business aircraft.
