S-92 HELICOPTER OPERATORS RENEW TOTAL ASSURANCE SUPPORT CONTRACTS WITH SIKORSKY

Six operators of the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter have renewed multi-year Total Assurance Program contracts, extending aftermarket support agreements into the early 2030s.

MULTI-YEAR SUPPORT AGREEMENTS EXTENDED

Six operators of the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter renewed multi-year Total Assurance Program (TAP) contracts during 2025 and early 2026, reinforcing long-term aftermarket support for the aircraft.

The TAP programme, offered by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, functions as a power-by-the-hour support service that allows operators to manage aircraft operations on a predictable cost-per-flight-hour basis while receiving replacement parts when required.

The renewed agreements cover almost 100 aircraft across the participating operators.

STRONG DEMAND FROM OFFSHORE ENERGY OPERATORS

According to Sikorsky, demand for TAP renewals over the past year has been driven largely by offshore energy operators, who rely on the S-92 for long-range offshore transport missions.

Bristow, the largest operator of the S-92 helicopter, renewed its TAP agreement in April 2025 to support approximately 60 aircraft. Since then, five additional operators, including Offshore Helicopter Services, have also renewed their contracts.

The programme provides coverage for more than 90 percent of replacement parts costs, including airframe, drivetrain, gearbox, avionics and consumable components.

GLOBAL SUPPORT NETWORK FOR THE S-92 FLEET

Sikorsky launched the TAP programme in 2004 with two offshore operators, Omni and PHI.

Today, nine S-92 operators receive TAP coverage, with the majority operating in the offshore energy and search-and-rescue sectors.

Of the 270 active S-92 helicopters worldwide, approximately 155 aircraft — or 57 percent of the global fleet — are covered by TAP contracts.

The programme uses four forward stocking locations across three continents to position frequently used and long-lead-time spare parts closer to operational bases.

DATA-DRIVEN MAINTENANCE AND AIRCRAFT HEALTH MONITORING

Sikorsky also uses operational data collected through the Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) to track aircraft health and adjust spare parts availability according to the operational tempo of each customer.

The accumulated data from more than 310 delivered S-92 aircraft has enabled the company to develop analytical tools and algorithms that support condition-based maintenance and improved fleet reliability.

The global S-92 fleet has now accumulated approximately 2.6 million flight hours.
