PIKA AERO AND DGM FRANCE RECEIVE IATA CBTA CENTER INNOVATION AWARD

Pika Aero and DGM France have received the 2026 IATA CBTA Center Best Innovation Award for AI-based aviation training solutions.

LIMA – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced that Pika Aero and DGM France have been recognised as winners of the 2026 IATA Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Center Best Innovation Award.

The awards were presented during the 4th IATA CBTA Center Conference, held alongside the 2026 IATA World Cargo Symposium (WCS).

AI-Based Training Solutions Recognised

Both organisations were recognised for developments in the application of artificial intelligence to aviation training environments.

Pika Aero received the award for its CBTA-based dangerous goods training technology, which combines short learning modules with operational scenarios that adapt in real time based on an individual learner’s performance.

DGM France was recognised for an AI-supported training solution designed to tailor learning programmes to each participant’s existing knowledge and experience. The system includes post-training validation to assess progress and identify remaining training gaps.

Advancing Dangerous Goods Training

According to IATA, the use of artificial intelligence in training programmes can support more realistic learning environments while strengthening regulatory compliance and operational safety.

The award programme was introduced in 2023 to encourage the development of innovative training solutions that improve safety, operational efficiency and sustainability across the aviation industry.

Entries for the 2026 award were evaluated by an independent jury comprising industry experts, IATA representatives and independent validators. Submissions were assessed based on innovation, industry impact, usability, implementation feasibility and evidence-based effectiveness.
