EMBRAER E-FREIGHTER PROGRAMME RECEIVES AVIATION WEEK RECOGNITION

Embraer’s E-Freighter programme receives Aviation Week recognition, reflecting its role in regional cargo operations.

Award acknowledges programme execution and alignment with evolving cargo demand

Washington D.C., 19 March 2026 – Embraer’s E-Freighter programme has been recognised with the 2026 Aviation Week Program Excellence Award in the OEM category, highlighting both execution and market relevance in a rapidly evolving cargo sector.

The award recognises programmes that demonstrate performance beyond technical delivery, including operational impact and management effectiveness.

Developed in response to changing cargo dynamics driven by e-commerce and decentralised logistics, the E190F freighter has been positioned to serve secondary and tertiary markets where demand for faster, more flexible distribution continues to grow.

Embraer confirmed that the programme was completed within a 29-month timeframe, transforming the E-Jet platform into a certified freighter configuration aimed at replacing older and less efficient aircraft in the segment.

Performance metrics indicate that converted E-Jets provide over 40% greater volume capacity, up to three times the range of large cargo turboprops, and operating cost reductions of up to 30% compared to larger narrowbody aircraft. Combined payload capability reaches 13,500 kg.

The programme reflects a broader shift in cargo operations towards right-sized aircraft capable of supporting regional networks and improving route economics.
