EMBRAER TO PRESENT KC-390 AND A-29 AT FIDAE 2026

Embraer will showcase its defence and security portfolio at FIDAE 2026 in Santiago, Chile, with the KC-390 Millennium and A-29 Super Tucano forming the centrepiece of its exhibition.

FIDAE AS A REGIONAL PLATFORM

The biennial FIDAE airshow, held at Pudahuel Air Base from 7–12 April, remains a key platform for defence engagement in Latin America. Embraer’s participation reflects its continued focus on strengthening relationships with regional operators and promoting its integrated defence capabilities.

The company will present the KC-390 Millennium demonstrator, featuring a new livery, marking its first appearance in Latin America in this configuration.

KC-390 MILLENNIUM CAPABILITY

The KC-390 Millennium is positioned as a modern medium-sized military transport aircraft, designed for both tactical and strategic missions.

The aircraft offers a payload capacity of approximately 26 tonnes, with a cruise speed of 470 knots, enabling it to operate across a range of mission profiles. These include cargo and troop transport, airdrop operations, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian missions.

The platform is also equipped for air-to-air refuelling (AAR) operations, functioning as both tanker and receiver when configured accordingly. It is capable of operating from unpaved and austere runways, expanding its deployment flexibility.

The KC-390 has been selected by multiple air forces globally, including Brazil, Portugal, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, and others.

A-29 SUPER TUCANO ROLE AND DEPLOYMENT

The A-29 Super Tucano continues to serve as a light attack, reconnaissance, and advanced training aircraft across multiple air forces.

With more than 600,000 flight hours accumulated, the platform is in service with 22 air forces worldwide, including several in Latin America such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador.

The aircraft supports a wide mission set, including close air support (CAS), intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), border patrol, and counter-drone operations. It is designed to operate in low-infrastructure environments, including unpaved runways, while maintaining relatively low maintenance requirements and operating costs.

PORTFOLIO POSITIONING

Beyond the aircraft on display, Embraer will use FIDAE 2026 to promote its broader defence and security portfolio, positioning itself as a provider of integrated and multi-mission solutions for air forces operating in diverse environments.
