ITA AIRWAYS LAUNCHES NEW DIGITAL PLATFORM AS LUFTHANSA INTEGRATION ADVANCES

ITA Airways has introduced a redesigned website and mobile application, marking a key step in its integration into the Lufthansa Group’s digital ecosystem and enhancing the customer journey across its network.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ALIGNED WITH GROUP STRATEGY

ITA Airways has rolled out new digital platforms, including a fully redesigned website and mobile app, developed on Lufthansa Group’s technology infrastructure.

 

The upgrade forms part of the airline’s broader integration into the Lufthansa Group, enabling a more unified and streamlined customer experience across group carriers while maintaining ITA Airways’ distinct brand identity.

 

 

ENHANCED CUSTOMER JOURNEY AND FUNCTIONALITY

The new digital ecosystem is designed to support passengers throughout the entire travel process, from flight search and booking to payment, additional services, and refund management.

 

Passengers can also access and manage existing bookings directly via both platforms. The system enables combined bookings across Lufthansa Group airlines, improving connectivity and operational flexibility for travellers.

 

 

LEVERAGING LUFTHANSA GROUP TECHNOLOGY

The migration to Lufthansa Group’s digital platform allows ITA Airways to adopt established, award-winning technology, including systems recognised internationally for mobile application performance.

 

This development follows earlier integration milestones, including codeshare agreements, expanded network access, and alignment between loyalty programmes such as Volare and Miles & More.

 

 

NEXT PHASE: EXPANDED DIGITAL SERVICES

Further enhancements are planned in the coming months, including:

  • Integration of the Miles & More loyalty programme
  • Introduction of Travel ID access
  • Automated notifications via email and mobile
  • Harmonised check-in systems across Lufthansa Group airlines

These additions are intended to further standardise the customer experience across the group’s network.

 

 

DIGITAL STRATEGY SUPPORTING BROADER INTEGRATION

The launch of the new platforms reflects ITA Airways’ wider strategic direction, with technology positioned as a core enabler of operational integration and customer experience.

 

The airline continues to align its systems and services with Lufthansa Group standards while maintaining its role as Italy’s national carrier, supporting both international connectivity and domestic mobility.
