Boeing and the U.S. Department of Defense have signed a seven-year framework agreement to significantly increase production of PAC-3 missile seekers, supporting expanded air and missile defence capabilities.
LONG-TERM FRAMEWORK TO SCALE PRODUCTION
Boeing and the U.S. Department of Defense have agreed to a seven-year framework aimed at tripling production of PAC-3 seekers to meet growing global demand for advanced air and missile defence systems.
The agreement forms part of a broader initiative to strengthen the U.S. defence industrial base and ensure sustained production capacity for critical systems.
ROLE OF PAC-3 SEEKERS IN DEFENCE SYSTEMS
PAC-3 seekers are integral to interceptor systems designed to identify, track, and engage a range of airborne threats, including ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as emerging high-speed threats.
The planned production increase is intended to expand the availability of these systems for both U.S. and allied forces.
INVESTMENT IN MANUFACTURING CAPACITY
Boeing has invested more than $200 million since 2024 to expand production capability at its Huntsville, Alabama facility, including the development of a new 35,000-square-foot manufacturing space.
The framework agreement enables further investment across the production value chain to support sustained output growth.
FOCUS ON WORKFORCE AND SUPPLY CHAIN
The agreement includes provisions to:
- Expand the skilled workforce required for advanced manufacturing
- Strengthen domestic supply chains through local sourcing
- Support long-term industrial resilience
This approach is aligned with a broader “Made in America” strategy to reinforce supply chain security and operational continuity.
