FL TECHNICS WHEELS & BRAKES SECURES UK CAA PART-145 APPROVAL

FL Technics Wheels & Brakes has received UK Civil Aviation Authority Part-145 approval, enabling the company to provide maintenance services for UK-registered aircraft and expand its component MRO capabilities.

REGULATORY APPROVAL EXPANDS OPERATIONAL SCOPE

The approval, issued by the UK Civil Aviation Authority on 6 February 2026, confirms compliance with UK Part-145 requirements and authorises the company to carry out maintenance on aircraft components within its approved scope.

This includes servicing of wheels, brakes, and selected landing gear components, allowing the organisation to engage directly with UK-registered operators.

ACCESS TO UK-REGISTERED OPERATORS

The certification removes previous regulatory limitations, enabling FL Technics Wheels & Brakes to expand its customer base within the UK market.

According to the company, the approval supports its strategy to strengthen relationships with operators and increase service accessibility across its existing component maintenance portfolio.

COMPLEMENTING EXISTING EUROPEAN CERTIFICATION

The UK approval builds on the company’s existing European Union Aviation Safety Agency Part-145 certification, issued under Germany’s Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA).

Together, these certifications position the company to provide broader regional support across Europe, aligning with increasing demand for flexible and compliant MRO services.

MRO CAPABILITY AND NETWORK EXPANSION

FL Technics Wheels & Brakes operates across multiple European locations, delivering repair and overhaul services for key aircraft components.

The addition of UK regulatory approval strengthens its ability to respond to operator requirements across different jurisdictions, particularly in a market where regulatory alignment remains a key operational consideration.

GROUP CONTEXT AND GLOBAL OPERATIONS

The company forms part of FL Technics, which delivers a wide range of aviation services including base and line maintenance, engineering, component support, and technical training.

FL Technics is itself part of Avia Solutions Group, which operates across multiple aviation sectors including ACMI leasing, MRO, ground handling, and crew training.

INDUSTRY CONTEXT

The approval reflects ongoing demand for certified MRO providers capable of supporting multi-jurisdictional fleets. As regulatory frameworks evolve post-Brexit, approvals such as UK Part-145 remain critical for service providers seeking to maintain access to UK-registered aircraft.
