KEYVAN Aviation has released a new version of its DPilot mobile application, providing pilots and flight schools with enhanced access to certified aeronautical data, interactive airspace visualisation and digital pre-flight planning tools.
Digital support for flight training
KEYVAN Aviation has launched an updated version of its DPilot application on Apple’s App Store, expanding the platform’s capabilities for student pilots, instructors and aviation professionals engaged in pre-flight preparation and flight training.
Designed as a professional aviation support tool rather than a flight simulator, DPilot uses certified aeronautical and navigation data to assist users in understanding operational information, including Flight Information Regions (FIRs), VFR flight planning, controlled airspace structures, airport information and route assessment.
Bridging theory and practical training
According to KEYVAN Aviation, the application is intended to complement conventional flight training by allowing students to explore airspace layouts, flight routes and operational environments before entering the cockpit.
The company says this digital approach helps strengthen the link between classroom instruction and practical flight training while providing flight schools with a cost-effective tool to support visual learning and operational awareness.
Integrated aeronautical data platform
A distinguishing feature of DPilot is the integration of certified aeronautical data with the application itself, providing users with a single platform rather than requiring separate mapping, navigation data and software solutions.
The updated version includes enhanced map visualisation, improved presentation of Flight Information Regions, airspace structures, airport information and route assessment capabilities through a redesigned mobile interface for iPhone and iPad users.
Supporting safer flight preparation
As digital tools become increasingly integrated into pilot training and operational planning, applications such as DPilot reflect the wider industry’s move towards greater use of interactive aeronautical information to improve situational awareness before flight.
While the platform is not intended to replace certified flight planning or operational systems, it provides pilots and trainees with an accessible environment in which to better understand airspace, navigation and airport information using professional-grade aeronautical data.
