Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord is celebrating its tenth anniversary having exceeded every major objective set at its founding, with a fleet of more than 100 aircraft, the arrival of Arcus Infrastructure Partners as lead investor alongside Freshstream, and the placement of its first-ever direct OEM order — 20 factory-new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
A DECADE OF VALUE-ORIENTED GROWTH IN REGIONAL AVIATION
TrueNoord, the Amsterdam-headquartered specialist regional aircraft lessor, is marking its tenth anniversary in July 2026, having launched in 2016 with a clear thesis — that the global aviation market had room for a dedicated, full-service lessor focused exclusively on the 50-to-150-seat segment — and having spent the intervening decade building the evidence that the thesis was correct. The company now owns a fleet of more than 100 latest-technology turboprop, regional jet and crossover aircraft on lease to more than 30 operators across 25 countries, having exceeded every major objective established at inception.
Anne-Bart Tieleman, Chief Executive Officer of TrueNoord, said the company was not only celebrating the scale it had achieved but the relationships it had built. He said every aircraft in the fleet, every transaction completed and every milestone reached had been made possible by the trust of customers and the support of financial partners through changing market cycles. He described TrueNoord’s people as its greatest asset — an exceptional team of aviation finance, law, maintenance, sales and leasing professionals whose hard work and integrity had enabled results that exceeded the company’s own expectations. The fleet links remote locations to larger urban areas, provides feeder services to major hubs and fulfils carriers’ lower-demand off-peak requirements across a growing global market.
NEW LEAD INVESTOR AND FIRST DIRECT OEM ORDER
Two developments underscore TrueNoord’s transition from its first decade to its second. The company has recently welcomed Arcus Infrastructure Partners as its new lead investor, working alongside existing investor Freshstream. The arrival of Arcus brings additional financial strength and momentum to pursue opportunities across the regional aviation sector and reflects institutional confidence in TrueNoord’s strategy and track record as a specialist lessor in a market segment that generalist lessors typically underserve.
Separately, TrueNoord has signed its first-ever direct OEM order — for twenty factory-new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft — which Tieleman described as one of the most important developments in the company’s history. The order strengthens TrueNoord’s portfolio with new-generation assets at the larger end of its target capacity range and enhances its ability to offer airlines modern, fuel-efficient and passenger-friendly fleet solutions. First delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2027. Tieleman said the next decade would begin with the same values that guided the first — ambitious, disciplined and focused on creating long-term value — and that the best chapters of TrueNoord’s story were still to come.
