AERO 2026 POISED FOR RECORD EXHIBITOR PARTICIPATION

AERO 2026 is set to achieve record exhibitor numbers in Friedrichshafen, featuring an expanded Business Aviation Dome and a dedicated Sustainable Aviation Trail for 100+ companies.

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, GERMANY — Preparations for AERO 2026, scheduled for 22–25 April, have entered their final phase at the Friedrichshafen Exhibition Centre. Organisers have confirmed that the event is on track to achieve a record number of exhibitors, surpassing previous iterations of the world’s leading trade fair for general aviation, business aviation, and air sports.

Expansion of Business Aviation Infrastructure

A primary feature of the 2026 event is the expanded Business Aviation Dome, which is currently under construction and will be significantly larger than the 2025 facility. Business aviation presence is expected to be robust, with major displays situated both within the Dome and Hall A1. Key industry bodies, including the German Business Aviation Association (GBAA), the Air Charter Association (ACA), and the International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA), will maintain a significant presence. The sector focus remains on evolving regulatory frameworks and the future technical challenges facing business aviation operators.

Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

The AERO Sustainable Aviation Trail will feature over 100 registered companies showcasing propulsion technology and decarbonisation solutions. These exhibitors will be distinguished by green and white windsocks throughout the fairgrounds. In the ultralight segment, innovation continues to be driven by the 600-kilogram maximum take-off weight (MTOW) allowance in Germany, allowing manufacturers to exhibit higher-performance designs previously restricted by lower weight categories.

Piston Aircraft and General Aviation

The core of European general aviation—single- and twin-engine piston aircraft under two tonnes—will be represented by all major global OEMs. Confirmed participants include Cirrus Aircraft, Textron Aviation, Tecnam, Diamond Aircraft, Piper Aircraft, Elixir Aircraft, and Extra Aircraft. These platforms remain critical for training, touring, and special mission profiles such as forest fire observation and traffic monitoring.

Logistics and Digital Integration

In a first for the event, a complimentary shuttle bus service will operate from Lindau, Ravensburg, and Überlingen. Digital integration has also been prioritised via the AERO app, which provides real-time exhibitor directories, interactive hall maps, and a 15% discount on ticket purchases made before 31 March 2026.
