airBaltic DEPLOYS INTERLNKD AIRMALL ON STARLINK-CONNECTED FLEET

airBaltic has partnered with InterLnkd to launch AirMall on its Starlink-connected fleet, enabling passengers to shop over 20,000 brands via the Skynet Wi-Fi portal with no onboard stock required.

LONDON, UK — Latvian carrier airBaltic has announced a partnership with technology provider InterLnkd to integrate the “AirMall” platform into its Skynet onboard Wi-Fi portal. This development makes airBaltic the first Starlink-connected airline to launch the dynamic, global inflight retail solution for its passengers.

Digital Retail Integration

The AirMall platform converts the carrier’s Wi-Fi portal into a branded retail channel accessible via passengers’ personal devices. It provides access to more than 20,000 brands across the fashion, beauty, and travel sectors without requiring onboard physical inventory or cabin crew involvement. The system is designed to integrate with the airBaltic Club loyalty programme, allowing passengers to earn points on all transactions conducted during flight.

Personalisation and Connectivity Infrastructure

The solution utilises the “MotiVatedData™” matching engine to curate product recommendations based on specific passenger profiles and flight destinations. Natālija Kuzmina, VP Customer Experience and Insights at airBaltic, stated that the implementation represents a key step in building upon the airline’s investment in inflight Wi-Fi.

Barry Klipp, CEO of InterLnkd, noted that the deployment on airBaltic’s Starlink-enabled fleet signals a shift toward the “connected cabin” as a digital experience. According to Klipp, the scalable solution allows airlines to offset the costs of connectivity through an engaging digital ecosystem.

Market Position and Compatibility

The roll-out follows a milestone partnership between InterLnkd and connectivity provider Viasat. The AirMall platform is provider-agnostic, allowing for rapid deployment across fleets without the requirement for additional onboard hardware or software. On the airBaltic Skynet platform, AirMall joins a selection of existing partners, including Booking.com, SIXT, and GetYourGuide.
