Lisbon, Portugal – May 14, 202 5– In a landmark development for the future of drone operations across Europe, ANRA Technologies has become the first company to receive certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a U-space Service Provider (USSP). The announcement was made at Airspace World in Lisbon, underscoring a major milestone in the implementation of U-space — Europe’s framework for managing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in shared airspace.
The certification, the first of its kind under EASA’s new centralised framework, signals a major step forward in realising a harmonised and scalable system for UAS traffic management across the European Union. It paves the way for safe, secure, and efficient drone operations at scale.
“ANRA’s achievement of becoming the first certified U-space Service Provider demonstrates what is possible through rigorous compliance and technical maturity,” said Florian Guillermet, Executive Director of EASA. “It sets the benchmark for others and moves us closer to a safe, secure, and interoperable European U-space ecosystem.”
Over the course of nearly two years, ANRA underwent an intensive evaluation process in partnership with EASA. This included comprehensive assessments of operational readiness, safety, cybersecurity, business continuity, data protection, and service oversight—far beyond pure software functionality.
“This certification is a landmark milestone for our company and for the European drone ecosystem,” said Amit Ganjoo, Founder and CEO of ANRA Technologies. “It validates our commitment to building a robust, aviation-grade platform that meets the highest safety and operational standards.”
U-space is a designated airspace for UAS operations, supported by a suite of digital and automated services. These services are designed to safely manage high volumes of drone traffic and enable complex operations such as beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) flights. ANRA’s certification as a USSP effectively opens the door to scalable U-space deployments across Europe.
“We’ve grown tremendously as an organisation during this journey,” said Patricia Garcia Pastor, U-space Certification Manager at ANRA Technologies Spain. “Working closely with EASA, we’ve built internal systems that meet the highest standards of safety and reliability.”
ANRA Europe is now positioned to activate U-space services in multiple EU member states. The company is in active discussions with several national regulators and air navigation service providers, with further announcements expected shortly.
