AURA AERO has raised €50 million in a Series B funding round, advancing its transition from programme development to industrial-scale production while securing firm orders and expanding manufacturing capacity in Europe and the United States.
FUNDING DRIVES TRANSITION TO INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION
AURA AERO has completed a €50 million funding round, bringing its total funding to €340 million, supported by a combination of private investment, European grants, and U.S. state backing.
This capital injection marks a shift from development to industrialisation, enabling the company to advance production capabilities and scale its aircraft programmes.
EXPANSION OF INDUSTRIAL FOOTPRINT
The company is establishing two major production sites:
- Toulouse-Francazal Airport, France, where a building permit has been secured for a new manufacturing facility
- Daytona Beach, Florida, USA, where a 16-hectare site has been prepared for a future production plant
These facilities will support the transition to serial production and anchor AURA AERO’s industrial presence across both European and U.S. markets.
PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION PRIORITIES
The funding will support three primary programme areas:
- ERA hybrid-electric regional aircraft, progressing towards first flight
- INTEGRAL aircraft family, including electric variants for training and operations
- ENBATA drone programme, expanding into advanced unmanned systems
The company aims to bring these programmes from development into full-scale production, supported by new industrial infrastructure.
COMMERCIAL TRACTION SUPPORTING SCALE-UP
AURA AERO has secured over 700 purchase intentions and 20 firm orders for its ERA aircraft, providing early validation of market demand.
These commitments are expected to support production planning and provide visibility for future manufacturing volumes as the company transitions to series production.
FOCUS ON LOW-CARBON AVIATION DEVELOPMENT
The company’s roadmap includes several targeted milestones:
- First flight of a hybrid-electric regional aircraft (ERA)
- Certification of a fully electric CS-23 category aircraft (INTEGRAL E)
- Development of an ITAR-free MALE drone (ENBATA)
These programmes are aligned with broader European objectives to advance low-carbon aviation technologies and support industrial development within the sector.
STRATEGIC BACKING AND INDUSTRIAL POSITIONING
The funding round includes participation from institutional and industrial investors, including Bpifrance, the European Innovation Council Fund, Safran Corporate Ventures, and EDF Group.
This backing provides both financial support and strategic alignment with European industrial policy initiatives focused on decarbonisation and aerospace innovation.
