BLACKHAWK GROUP EXPANDS INTO EUROPE WITH MCA AVIATION ACQUISITION

The Blackhawk Group expands into Europe with the acquisition of UK-based MCA Aviation, strengthening its global MRO and aircraft upgrade network.

UK-based King Air specialist strengthens global MRO and upgrade network

The Blackhawk Group has expanded its global service network with the acquisition of MCA Aviation, marking its first strategic entry into the European market.

The move forms part of Blackhawk’s ongoing development of its Performance Center Network, extending support capabilities for operators across Europe.

EUROPEAN FOOTPRINT AND CAPABILITY EXPANSION

Based at Bournemouth International Airport in the United Kingdom, MCA Aviation brings more than two decades of experience in aircraft maintenance and engineering, with a strong reputation as a specialist in Beechcraft King Air platforms.

The facility holds both UK CAA Part 145 and FAA Repair Station approvals, enabling it to support a broad range of maintenance and upgrade activities across multiple aircraft types.

INTEGRATION INTO PERFORMANCE CENTER NETWORK

Following the acquisition, the Bournemouth facility will be rebranded as a Blackhawk Performance Center, integrating into the group’s growing network of aircraft modernisation and support facilities.

MCA’s existing leadership and technical team will remain in place, ensuring operational continuity and retention of technical expertise.

The facility offers a comprehensive range of services, including:

  • Aircraft inspections and maintenance
  • Avionics installations and upgrades
  • Airworthiness support
  • Engine and performance modifications
  • Pre-purchase evaluations

STRATEGIC POSITIONING IN THE LIGHT TURBINE MARKET

The acquisition represents Blackhawk’s sixth expansion and aligns with its strategy to strengthen its position in the light turbine aircraft segment.

By establishing a presence in Europe, the group enhances its ability to support operators in key markets, particularly those operating platforms such as King Air, Beechjet/400XP, TBM, Piper, and Cessna aircraft.

NETWORK GROWTH AND GLOBAL REACH

Blackhawk’s Performance Center Network focuses on aircraft modernisation, including engine upgrades, avionics integration, and supplemental type certificate (STC) development.

The addition of MCA Aviation extends this capability geographically, supporting both regional and international customers while reinforcing the group’s service footprint.
