BOEING STEPS UP TO SUPPORT TORNADO RECOVERY IN MISSOURI AND KENTUCKY

$150,000 contribution aids communities through Red Cross and Urban League partnerships.

Boeing has committed $150,000 to assist tornado-impacted communities in St. Louis and southern Kentucky, underscoring the aerospace company’s commitment to disaster recovery and community resilience.

The funds, drawn from the Boeing Charitable Trust, have been allocated to two key organisations on the frontlines of recovery:

  • $100,000 has been awarded to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis to support neighbourhoods with essential supplies, food, water, lodging, and clean-up assistance.
  • $50,000 has been directed to the American Red Cross to aid storm and flood recovery efforts in Kentucky.

“Boeing is committed to supporting the resilient communities devastated by these tornadoes,” said Lindsay Leonard, vice president of Boeing Global Engagement. “We are working with our partners on the ground that are doing the necessary work of providing immediate aid and starting the process of recovery.”

The Red Cross continues to operate in affected areas such as Laurel, Pulaski and Russell counties, offering shelter, meals, and vital supplies to displaced residents.

“We are so thankful for the generosity of donors like Boeing, who help make the mission of the Red Cross possible,” said Nadine McCrindle, CEO of the American Red Cross Kentucky Region. “Our Red Crossers have been on the ground supporting communities… and we continue to work with these communities to make sure they have a safe place to stay, warm meals to eat and other vital support in the days ahead.”

Beyond this immediate funding, Boeing remains a steadfast partner in the Red Cross’s Annual Disaster Giving Program. The programme enables year-round preparedness and response to disasters across the country.

Boeing also empowers its workforce to participate in relief efforts through the Boeing Employees Community Fund and a matching gift programme that doubles employee contributions toward tornado recovery efforts.

This donation builds on Boeing’s broader philanthropic footprint: in 2024 alone, the company contributed more than $12 million to charitable causes across Missouri—where it employs over 17,000 people—and $3.8 million globally to support recovery and relief initiatives.
