ARLINGTON, Va., March 31, 2025 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] has pledged $100,000 to The Salvation Army to assist in recovery efforts following the devastating tornadoes that struck the greater St. Louis area on March 14-15.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected by the recent tornadoes in St. Louis. We are committed to supporting our communities as they continue to recover and rebuild,” said Jeff Shockey, executive vice president of Boeing Government Operations, Global Public Policy and Corporate Strategy. “By working closely with trusted partners like The Salvation Army, we can help ensure that critical resources reach those who need them most.”
According to The Salvation Army Midland Division commander, Maj. Robert Mueller, the tornadoes left a significant impact on Missouri residents, with 3,667 homes reported damaged or destroyed. “Over the next two-plus weeks we will be providing immediate assistance through the distribution of gift cards and other essential living items,” said Mueller. “Boeing’s generous contribution of $100,000 at a time when people need hope like never before will make it possible to provide gift cards to hundreds of survivors throughout St. Louis County in communities where Boeing employees live and work.”
Beyond corporate contributions, Boeing employees are encouraged to support relief efforts through the Boeing Employees Community Fund and the company’s charitable gift-matching programme. Boeing will match qualifying employee donations made towards tornado recovery efforts.
Disaster relief aligns with Boeing’s commitment to the communities in which it operates. The aerospace giant employs more than 17,000 people in Missouri and contributed over $12 million in charitable investments across the state in 2024 alone. Globally, Boeing donated $3.8 million towards recovery and relief efforts last year.
