Fort Lauderdale/Shannon, January 23, 2025: Broward Aviation Services (BAS) has announced the acquisition of a Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) airframe from AerCap, underscoring the company’s commitment to enhancing its global parts inventory.
The 2004 vintage aircraft, previously operated by South Korea’s t’way Air, will be disassembled at AerCap Materials’ facility in Greenwood-Leflore County Airport, Mississippi. The teardown is set for completion by mid-February and will yield approximately 800 high-demand components.
Dennis Amaty, Co-Founder and President of BAS Group, highlighted the significance of the acquisition. “We’re procuring airframes and engines for teardown to boost our inventory and enable us to better serve our rapidly expanding global customer base. We have inventory valued at over $60 million and are actively focusing on stock for the B737NG aircraft type.”
The harvested parts will undergo repair and overhaul at BAS Group’s in-house facilities, Jet Air MRO and Air Accessories & Avionics, before being distributed to its hubs in Florida, Arizona, and the recently established facility in Shannon, Ireland. This expanded network will support Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) needs for customers worldwide.
Craig Padvaiskas, Vice President of Asset Management, explained the strategic approach to asset acquisition. “The airframe was acquired in partnership with AerCap through a competitive tender. We’re focused on building real depth in our parts portfolio. Recently, we dismantled a 737-700 to bolster USM stock for narrowbody operators and MROs seeking comprehensive and efficient component provision 24/7. Our goal is to develop our capabilities and cement our reputation as a trusted and reliable partner for lessors and airlines looking to sell mature assets.”
Broward Aviation Services, established in 1999, is a leading aircraft parts provider with over 5 million items in stock. Accredited with ASA-100 certification, BAS is a trusted partner for a global customer base that includes commercial and regional airlines, MRO organisations, OEMs, and brokers. Known for its transparency, competitive pricing, and reliability, the company operates a 24/7/365 AOG service.
