C909 AIRCRAFT COMPLETES INAUGURAL FLIGHT IN LAOS

The C909 aircraft marked a significant milestone in regional aviation on 12 April 2025, as Lao Airlines operated its first commercial flight with the type. Designated flight QV331, the aircraft departed from Vientiane Wattay International Airport and touched down safely at Pakse International Airport at 11:17 Beijing time.

Delivered to Lao Airlines on 30 March 2025 by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC), the C909 is currently operated on a lease basis. The carrier plans to utilise the C909 on domestic routes, with aspirations to expand operations into neighbouring international markets in due course.

COMAC has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the airline with continued customer service and operational assistance, ensuring the aircraft’s performance remains safe and efficient. The successful deployment of the C909 in Laos marks another step forward for China’s civil aviation industry in strengthening its footprint across Southeast Asia.
