Paris, June 2025 — Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) made a strong impression at the 55th Paris International Air Show, unveiling its full suite of next-generation aircraft models at the Le Bourget Exhibition Center. On display were COMAC’s core aircraft—the C909, C919, and the in-development C929—as well as their respective derivative versions, highlighting the company’s expanding portfolio and international ambitions.
The Paris Air Show also witnessed a key milestone for COMAC: the signing of a memorandum of understanding with aerospace suppliers Safran and Crane Aerospace & Electronics to collaborate on the development of the widebody C929 aircraft. This strategic partnership marks a significant step in advancing COMAC’s global footprint and technological capabilities.

Model Line-Up and Performance
The C909, designed for regional routes, carries between 78 and 97 passengers with a range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometres. It is engineered for performance under challenging airport conditions, including high-altitude, high-temperature, and short runway environments.
Â
COMAC’s C919, a single-aisle aircraft targeting the narrow-body market segment, accommodates 158 to 192 passengers and offers a range of 4,075 to 5,555 kilometres. Featuring modern aerodynamic design and advanced propulsion systems, the C919 offers improved fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions—positioning it as a competitive choice for domestic and regional operators.
Â
At the upper end of COMAC’s ambitions lies the C929, currently in its design phase. This widebody aircraft is expected to offer a range of 12,000 kilometres and seating for approximately 280 passengers, aimed at long-haul international operations.
Â
Deliveries and Global Expansion
To date, COMAC has delivered 165 C909 aircraft and 20 C919s. The C909 in particular has seen notable uptake in Southeast Asia, where new operators such as Lao Airlines and Vietjet Air of Vietnam have recently introduced the type into service. Together with Indonesia’s Lingya Airlines, these carriers have launched 15 new routes connecting 18 cities across the region.
Â
Sustainability and Vision
COMAC’s participation in the Paris Air Show underscores its commitment to environmentally responsible aviation. Both the C909 and C919 are certified to operate with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends of up to 50%, aligning with the industry’s transition towards greener operations. The company emphasises a customer-centric approach, delivering comprehensive support services to ensure the smooth integration of its aircraft into airline fleets.
Â
As it continues to evolve, COMAC is firmly focused on openness and international cooperation. Its presence in Paris reflects not just a showcase of aircraft, but a call for global partnerships to jointly shape the future of civil aviation.
