DIAMOND AIRCRAFT SHOWCASES EFFICIENCY AND TRAINING SOLUTIONS AT AERO SOUTH AFRICA

Diamond Aircraft Aviation Southern Africa is exhibiting at AERO South Africa 2026, showcasing a range of Jet A-1-powered and fuel-efficient aircraft designed for both flight training and private ownership.

Speaking to World Airnews, Pierre Prinsloo, Owner of Plane Maintenance Facility (PMF) and Diamond Aircraft Aviation Southern Africa, highlighted one of the key advantages of the Diamond range: its use of modern compression-ignition engines that operate on Jet A-1 fuel, allowing operators to access a widely available fuel source across many African markets where AVGAS availability may be limited.

The Diamond portfolio ranges from two-seat trainers to larger twin-engine aircraft and serves a broad customer base including flight schools, private owners and business aviation operators. Prinsloo noted that Diamond’s composite airframe design, efficient aerodynamics and advanced Garmin avionics make the aircraft particularly well suited to African operating conditions.

With roots in glider design, Diamond aircraft are recognised for their aerodynamic efficiency, performance and operational economy. The aircraft’s combination of modern technology and fuel flexibility has contributed to its growing appeal among training organisations and owner-pilots worldwide.

Based at Hangar 44 at Lanseria International Airport, PMF has supported the aviation industry for more than 35 years and serves as Diamond Aircraft’s sales, maintenance and support representative in Southern Africa.

A full feature examining the growing role of Jet A-1-powered training aircraft in Africa, and Diamond Aircraft’s contribution to the sector, will be published in World Airnews’ forthcoming Aviation Training Edition later this year. Watch this space.
