ECS GROUP AND AIR SENEGAL MARK SEVEN YEARS OF CARGO FOCUS

ECS Group and Air Senegal signed a GSSA partnership agreement within less than a year of the airline beginning commercial operations, and since February 2019 ECS Group and its French subsidiary and contract-holder, Aero Cargo International France, have supported the development of Air Senegal’s cargo business in France, Europe and beyond. Air Senegal resumed direct flights between Paris-CDG and Dakar-DSS in February 2025 after the pandemic and now operates the route daily, offering around 15 tonnes and 70 cubic metres of cargo capacity a day; the route is the main artery in Air Senegal’s network and feeds into regional destinations including Abidjan, Cotonou, Conakry, Bamako, Accra, Lagos, Libreville and Banjul, flown with a mix of Airbus A320, Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft carrying express freight, e-commerce, postal mail, perishables, pharmaceuticals and general cargo.

A GLOBAL FEEDER NETWORK INTO ONE ROUTE

French freight forwarders supply around 80 to 90 percent of the cargo volumes flying Air Senegal out of Paris, but ECS Group’s commercial representation and interline agreements draw in flows from further afield; every week several tonnes of goods leave the United Arab Emirates bound for Paris-CDG before onward carriage to Senegal, with Belgium, Germany, India and occasionally Nordic countries also contributing, pre-transported by road from Europe or by air through interline agreements.
