Embraer and Hellenic Aerospace Industry have signed an agreement to develop future C-390 Millennium maintenance and support capabilities in Greece.
STRATEGIC AGREEMENT SUPPORTS FUTURE HELLENIC AIR FORCE C-390 CAPABILITY
Embraer and Hellenic Aerospace Industry have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation in aerospace and defence, with a focus on developing maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) capabilities for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft in Greece.
The agreement was signed in Athens by Fabio Caparica, Vice President of Contracts at Embraer Defense & Security, and Alexandros Diakopoulos, Executive Chairman of Hellenic Aerospace Industry (HAI).
SUPPORTING FUTURE C-390 OPERATIONS
According to the companies, the agreement is intended to support the operational and sustainment requirements of a future Hellenic Air Force (HAF) C-390 fleet while also contributing to the development of domestic aerospace industry capability within Greece.
HAI said the partnership aligns with its strategy to position itself as a long-term aerospace and defence partner within Europe while expanding in-country maintenance and support capability.
Embraer stated that the cooperation would help establish local maintenance expertise and reinforce long-term support autonomy for the Hellenic Air Force. The company added that the agreement forms part of its broader strategy to strengthen its presence in the European aerospace and defence market.
C-390 MILLENNIUM POSITIONING
Embraer described the C-390 Millennium as a next-generation military airlift platform designed for multi-mission operations and interoperability. The aircraft has been positioned by the manufacturer as offering operational flexibility, reliability and efficiency across a range of military transport missions.
The agreement also reflects Embraer’s ongoing efforts to expand industrial and aftermarket partnerships across Europe as demand grows for modern military transport and sustainment capability.
