Embraer and PGZ have signed five MoUs to expand aerospace and defence cooperation in Poland, covering MRO, manufacturing, technology transfer and KC-390 support.
Warsaw, Poland – 2 December 2025 — Embraer has strengthened its strategic footprint in Europe with the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa S.A. (PGZ) and its subsidiaries WZL-1, WZL-2, WSK “PZL-Kalisz” and WBCKT. The agreements were formalised in Warsaw, where Embraer also presented its KC-390 Millennium multi-mission transport demonstrator aircraft in a new livery to distinguished guests.
The move marks a significant step toward long-term collaboration in Poland’s aerospace and defence sector, reinforcing Embraer’s commitment to supporting industrial capability and job creation within the country. The agreements establish a framework to assess cooperation across operational support, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, components manufacturing, supply chain solutions, and the design, development and testing of aerospace products. Potential collaboration may also extend to C4ISR activities.
Embraer’s MoUs with WZL-1 and WZL-2 deepen engagement with two of Poland’s key aerospace organisations. Work with WZL-1 focuses on metallic and composite parts manufacturing, technology transfer, certification, quality assurance and emerging technologies. The agreement with WZL-2 will explore cooperation in KC-390 MRO support, activities for other aircraft, as well as painting services.
Further agreements with WSK and WBCKT expand the scope of industrial collaboration. WSK’s MoU covers cooperation in aircraft component production, mechanical and heat-treatment processes, services, training programmes and consulting. The MoU with WBCKT will evaluate the joint development of ground support equipment (GSE) for the KC-390 Millennium.
Together, these MoUs form a comprehensive platform for expanding Embraer’s industrial presence in Poland and strengthening long-term technological and defence cooperation.
Jan Grabowski, Vice President of the Management Board of PGZ S.A., said the agreements confirm PGZ’s readiness for long-term cooperation with one of the world’s leading aviation companies. “This will translate into increased potential for the Polish defence industry, technology transfer and the acquisition of new competencies in one of the key areas of the modern battlefield,” he said.
Bosco Da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, highlighted the importance of collaboration. “The agreements we signed today lay a solid foundation for a long-term partnership that will effectively place Poland at the centre of the industrial ecosystem we are creating in Europe,” he said.
During the event, Embraer showcased the KC-390 Millennium and highlighted the counter-UAS capabilities of the A-29 Super Tucano. Since entering service with the Brazilian Air Force in 2019, followed by Portugal in 2023 and Hungary in 2024, the KC-390 has demonstrated a mission capability rate of 93% and mission completion rates above 99%. The aircraft offers a payload capacity of 26 tonnes, higher speed at 470 knots and extended range, supporting missions including cargo and troop transport, airdrop, medical evacuation, search and rescue, humanitarian operations and firefighting. It can also operate from temporary or unpaved runways. The KC-390 variant equipped for air-to-air refuelling has proven its capability both as tanker and receiver.
