EMBRAER EXPANDS SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY IN INDIA

Embraer strengthens its supply chain strategy in India following executive visit, expanding supplier engagement and reinforcing industrial cooperation across commercial, executive and defence aviation sectors.

Executive visit reinforces industrial cooperation and local supplier engagement

Embraer has concluded a further executive-level visit to India as part of its ongoing strategy to expand and strengthen its supply chain presence in the country.

The visit forms part of the company’s broader objective to deepen industrial cooperation between Brazil and India while exploring new business opportunities across its commercial, executive and defence portfolios.

According to Roberto Chaves, Executive Vice President of Global Procurement and Supply Chain at Embraer, the company remains focused on advancing joint initiatives across defence and civil aviation sectors, supporting technological innovation, operational performance and long-term strategic partnerships.

The visit builds on Embraer’s established presence in India and follows continued engagement with local industry participants and government stakeholders. During the visit, the company evaluated potential supplier capabilities across multiple areas, including aerostructures assembly, machining, metal forming, composites manufacturing, wiring systems, and hardware and software development.

Embraer regards India as a key strategic partner within the Asia Pacific region and is planning the implementation of an expanded local supply chain programme in the country. The company recently opened its office in New Delhi, strengthening its regional footprint. A dedicated local procurement team has also been established to support supply chain development initiatives.

India represents an important market for Embraer across all business segments. The company currently supports a fleet of more than 44 aircraft operating in the country across commercial aviation, executive aviation and defence and security roles.

This includes five Embraer VIP aircraft operated by the Indian government, as well as three EMB 145 AEW “Netra” airborne early warning aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force.
