EMBRAER SHOWCASES ETHANOL-POWERED IPANEMA 203 AT AGRISHOW

Embraer showcases the ethanol-powered Ipanema 203 at Agrishow, highlighting regional expansion following Paraguay certification and continued leadership in agricultural aviation.

Brazilian-built agricultural aircraft expands regional footprint with Paraguay certification

RIBEIRÃO PRETO, BRAZIL — Embraer is presenting its Ipanema 203 agricultural aircraft at the 31st edition of Agrishow, taking place from 27 April to 1 May in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, as part of a broader strategy to expand into new regional markets.

The Ipanema 203, powered by 100% ethanol, remains the leading aircraft in Brazil’s agricultural aviation segment and has recently received certification to operate in Paraguay, marking a further step in its regional expansion.

EXPANDING AGRICULTURAL AVIATION CAPABILITY

The aircraft combines established agricultural aviation practices with updated operational efficiency, offering high productivity and reduced operating costs. According to Embraer, the Ipanema 203 is capable of covering more than 200 hectares per hour while maintaining consistent application quality.

Its aerial application capability allows crop treatment without ground contact, reducing soil compaction and limiting the spread of pests through physical contact. The operational outcome, according to the manufacturer, can result in yield improvements of between five and fifteen additional bags per hectare.

REGIONAL MARKET FOCUS

Participation at Agrishow positions the aircraft in front of a broad agricultural audience, including operators from neighbouring countries. Embraer is using the platform to highlight the aircraft’s role in supporting productivity gains within the agricultural sector, which remains a key market across South America.

EMPHASIS ON OPERATIONAL SAFETY

Alongside product positioning, Embraer continues to promote operational safety across the agricultural aviation sector. The company maintains an ongoing programme of initiatives covering preventive inspections, operational best practices, and pilot training.

Notably, all agricultural pilot training courses in Brazil include safety lectures delivered by Embraer’s Ipanema Customer Support Team, reinforcing standardised safety practices from the outset of pilot development.
