Embraer has signed a long-term logistics support agreement with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) aimed at enhancing operational availability across the KC-390 Millennium fleet through comprehensive lifecycle support.
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT AGREEMENT
Lifecycle support for the KC-390
Embraer has signed a new long-term service and support agreement with the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to provide comprehensive logistics support for its KC-390 Millennium fleet. The agreement covers aircraft currently in service as well as those yet to be delivered and is intended to maximise operational availability of the multi-mission transport platform.
The contract provides full lifecycle support, including component repair and overhaul, spare parts supply, engineering services, technical publications and additional contingency support. According to Embraer, the package has been structured to improve logistics performance, increase operational predictability and enable rapid response to the Brazilian Air Force’s operational requirements.
Supporting mission readiness
Lieutenant-Brigadier Valter Malta, General Support Commander of the Brazilian Air Force, said the agreement reinforces the service’s commitment to operational readiness and fleet availability by providing the maintenance and logistical sustainment required to support the KC-390 Millennium, which serves as a strategic asset for national mobility, defence and rapid response missions.
Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, said the agreement builds on the company’s long-standing partnership with the Brazilian Air Force and is designed to maximise operational availability, efficiency and mission readiness across the KC-390 fleet.
MULTI-MISSION PLATFORM
Designed for tactical and strategic operations
The KC-390 Millennium is designed to perform a broad range of military and humanitarian missions. With a payload capacity of up to 26 tonnes, the aircraft is capable of cargo and troop transport, equipment and personnel airdrop, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting and humanitarian operations, including missions from temporary or unpaved runways. When fitted with air-to-air refuelling equipment, the aircraft can operate as both a tanker and a receiver.
Beyond the Brazilian Air Force, the KC-390 has been selected by the air forces of Portugal, Hungary, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Uzbekistan, Sweden, the United Arab Emirates, Slovakia and Lithuania, reflecting continued international adoption of the platform.
