EMBRAER’S E-FREIGHTER EARNS TRIPLE CERTIFICATION

São José dos Campos, Brazil, 10 February 2025 – Embraer’s E-Freighter, the E190F, has achieved full certification from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), following prior approvals from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) in 2024. This milestone clears the way for the E-Freighter’s global operations, reinforcing Embraer’s role in shaping the future of air cargo.

The E190F made its maiden flight in April 2024 and debuted publicly at the Farnborough Airshow in July 2024. Designed to address a growing demand for efficient and sustainable air cargo solutions, the program began in May 2022, targeting the need to replace aging freighter aircraft with a modern, cost-effective alternative.

Meeting E-Commerce and Regional Cargo Demand

The E-Freighter is tailored to the evolving logistics landscape, where rapid e-commerce growth and decentralised distribution models require quick deliveries to both urban hubs and remote regions.

EASA certification is a key milestone in our passenger-to-freighter conversion program. This is an exciting market, and we have developed the perfect aircraft to fill the gap, meeting global demand for faster deliveries—not just to metro areas, but to all regions,” said Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

Efficiency and Performance Advantages

The E190F and its counterpart, the E195F, deliver over 40% more volume capacity than large cargo turboprops and three times their range, while offering up to 30% lower operating costs than larger narrowbodies. With combined main deck and underfloor capacity, the maximum structural payload for the E190F is 13,500 kg, making it a highly competitive option in the market.

With a proven E-Jet platform, an extensive global operator base, and a strong track record of efficiency, Embraer’s E-Freighter program is set to transform regional cargo operations worldwide.
