Embraer’s Praetor 500E midsize business jet has achieved triple certification from Brazilian, American and European aviation authorities, clearing the aircraft for global operations and following the Praetor 600E’s equivalent milestone earlier this year.
TRIPLE CERTIFICATION CLEARS PRAETOR 500E FOR GLOBAL MARKETS
Embraer has announced that the Praetor 500E has received simultaneous type certification from Brazil’s civil aviation authority ANAC (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil), the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The certifications clear the aircraft for operation across key global markets and were achieved ahead of schedule, following the Praetor 600E’s equivalent triple certification in April 2026.
The Praetor 500E was introduced in February 2026 alongside the Praetor 600E as the first evolution of Embraer’s Praetor family. Michael Amalfitano, President and Chief Executive of Embraer Executive Jets, said the aircraft built on the strengths of the Praetor platform — a category leader in performance and technology — and had been enhanced with a next-generation cabin experience. He described the triple certification as a strong testament to Embraer’s engineering excellence, enterprise efficiency and disciplined execution, and said the company was well positioned to deliver the aircraft to customers worldwide.
PERFORMANCE AND RANGE
The Praetor 500E has a transcontinental range of 3,340 nautical miles (6,186 km) carrying four passengers with NBAA IFR reserves, enabling nonstop flights across North America including routes such as Miami–Seattle and Los Angeles–New York. The aircraft also features increased payload capability relative to its predecessor.
The Praetor 500E holds the distinction of being the fastest and furthest-flying aircraft in the midsize jet category. Its avionics suite includes class-exclusive full fly-by-wire technology with active turbulence reduction, the Embraer Enhanced Vision System (E2VS), and the Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS). These systems are designed to reduce pilot workload, enhance situational awareness and expand operational flexibility to a broader range of destinations.
CABIN AND CONNECTIVITY
The Praetor 500E features a completely redesigned cabin with all-new Embraer-designed seating, an advanced Cabin Management System and a range of next-generation enhancements targeting comfort, productivity and connectivity. Embraer said the cabin represented a significant step forward in the passenger experience for the midsize jet category.
Deliveries of both the Praetor 500E and the Praetor 600E for new orders are scheduled to begin in 2029. Amalfitano noted that the strong market reception already received by both variants gave the company confidence heading into the delivery phase.
